Brocante market during the Hanseatic Days

On Saturday 20 June, during the Hanseatic Days, there will be a large brocante market in Zaltbommel. A perfect addition to the atmospheric medieval programme that the city has to offer that day. Stroll along the stalls with special finds, old items and forgotten treasures while the Hanseatic era comes to life around you. Guest actors bring medieval crafts to life, the statues on the Waalkade are dressed in Hanseatic style and the city centre breathes the atmosphere of centuries past.

The brocante market fits in perfectly with this. Trading, bartering and discovering have always been part of life. During the Hanseatic period, the Market of Zaltbommel was the place where merchants struck deals, goods were offered and agreements were made that reached far beyond the city walls. On 20 June, that function of the Market is revived for one day, albeit with different merchandise and without Hanseatic ships in the background.

Bommelweek 2026 a great success again

Bommelweek 2026 was once again a great success in the Hanseatic city of Zaltbommel. From 15 to 23 August, the city was full of events, adventure and experience.
