Staying overnight in our natural vineyard
In the middle of our natural vineyard, a furnished tipi is ready for your stay for a (long) weekend. We have 2 tipi spots, each on their own patch of land, so in this green oasis you will be the only ones and can enjoy yourselves undisturbed. Cooking is possible on the gas burners provided or over a campfire in a Dutch Oven, and depending on the season you can use some fresh herbs or fruit from the food forest. An oasis of peace and always just a gate away from a stroll through the vineyard... The tent is set up for 2 people, equipped with bedding, cooking utensils, pots and crockery. On the pitch there is a picnic table and campfire area with (dry) wood for a modest campfire, and extra wood is available for a fee. Sanitary facilities are in the barn on the property at approximately 150m and are shared with the guests of the other tipi. The tent is not accessible by car; you park on our grounds, and a wheelbarrow is available for transporting luggage. During a stay we offer options for breakfast and high-wine.
Nature and surroundings
From the grounds you walk directly onto the Waal dike, behind which lies the nature reserve the Hurnse Kil, a bird sanctuary and the oldest nature reserve in the Netherlands, an extensive floodplain area where you can walk and, on a warm day, also swim. By bike you can explore the polder area and the many small and large villages of the Bommelerwaard, and not forgetting the castles. Or you simply stay on the dike and enjoy the many sweeping views, taking the ferry from Heerewaarden to Tiel and back again on the other side... With the historic town of Zaltbommel on one side and Hurwenen and Rossum on the other, you will find all the amenities of shops, restaurants and terraces within 4 km. But Den Bosch and Utrecht are also easily accessible by car (or train) due to the central location near the A2 and Zaltbommel station (2.4 km). More information about the area at www.beleefbommelerwaard.nl or www.bommelerwaardgids.nl.
Available from May to early October. Overnight stays are possible at weekends from Friday to Monday for 1, 2 or 3 nights, with arrival on Friday or Saturday, and in July and August you can stay overnight throughout the whole week, so for example a midweek stay or a full week...
