Below is an overview of the events we (co-)organize.
Every first Saturday of the month (April through October), you can set out with a guide through the fortified town of Zaltbommel. Figures such as military commander Maarten van Rossum and the Philips brothers particularly capture the imagination. The statue of Jip and Janneke on the Waalkade, belonging to Fiep Westendorp, who was born in Zaltbommel, is a frequently photographed object.
Naturally, the imposing St. Martin's Church, the Gasthuistoren, the City Castle, and the Water Gate are the main attractions. However, the guides lead visitors past many more beautiful buildings and spots with interesting histories, and due attention is also paid to the famous gargoyles.
Starts at 1:30 PM and ends at 3:00 PM. Also available for groups by appointment. Information and registration at Tourist Info Bommelerwaard. Cost € 6.00 per person including a cup of coffee/tea at Hema or a second scoop of ice cream half price at ice cream parlor Hygge. Children aged 4 to 12 € 2.50. Children under 4 free.
Strawberry tasting Saturday, June 13 from 10:00 AM
We will be handing out delicious strawberries at the Tourist Info on this day.
