Place mint building

On the corner of the Oliestraat and the Minnebroederstraat once stood the mint building of Zaltbommel, where coins were minted during the Middle Ages. The right to mint coins was a great privilege granted to only a handful of cities and testified to the political and economic status of Zaltbommel. The coins minted here circulated throughout the entire Hanseatic region and made the city an important financial centre in the region.
