At the Oliemolen 2 there is a remnant of the former convent of Zaltbommel. The convent played an important role in the religious and social life of the medieval city. The nuns cared for the sick, provided education and were an important part of the urban community. The preserved remnant is a silent witness to the rich monastic life that characterised the Hanseatic city for centuries.
