The Molenwal is one of the most characteristic places in Zaltbommel, where the medieval city wall is still clearly recognizable in the landscape. The wall formed the defensive belt of the city and was equipped with towers, bulwarks and gates. During the Hanseatic period, the Molenwal was the place where mills stood that provided the city with energy. Today, the Molenwal is a green walking route along the old fortifications, with beautiful views of the surrounding area.
