The old town hall at Markt 12 is one of the most historically significant buildings in Zaltbommel. The town hall was the administrative centre of the city, the place where city officials gathered and made decisions that shaped the lives of citizens. During the Hanseatic period, the town hall was also the place where trade treaties were ratified and justice was administered. The building is a symbol of urban autonomy and the administrative traditions of the Hanseatic city.
