Gasthuis chapel

The former Groote Bommelsche Gasthuis is a building complex that has grown from the fourteenth century between the Kerkstraat, the Vismarkt, the Oude Vismarkt and the Gasthuisstraat. The oldest preserved part is the former Gasthuis Chapel at Gasthuisstraat 34. The original, possibly fifteenth-century hall church is plastered and was extensively renovated in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The wooden barrel vault and the roof date from the first half of the sixteenth century. The main building at Kerkstraat 2 was built between 1782 and 1787 to a design by C. van Leeuwen.
